Overview

Longstanding manufacturing group based in Derbyshire are seeking a dynamic, driven Assistant Management Accountant to join their team as a result of continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking finance function that’s investing in people, processes, and long term growth.

Responsibilities
  • As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll work closely with Senior finance team members, supporting across purchase ledger, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end processes. This role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to grow into more senior responsibilities over time.
  • Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and related query resolution
  • Produce purchase ledger and month-end reports
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations, cost analysis, and intercompany transactions
  • Manage and review expenses ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Assist with statutory returns, audits, and ad hoc finance projects
  • Provide support in the ongoing development and optimisation of SAP

Alongside the business-as-usual elements, there are added value projects to be involved in, and exposure to the wider finance function including budgeting, forecasting, stock reporting and producing detailed management information.

Qualifications
  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent experience in a similar role within purchase/sales ledger)
  • Strong IT skills (SAP and Excel ideal)
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
  • Desire to progress and study towards CIMA
  • The ability to work on own initiative and improve efficiencies where recognised
