Job Title: Temporary Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Oxford (Office-based, not hybrid)
Contract Type: Temporary (3-6 months, with possible extension)
Start Date: Immediate
Working Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

About the Role

We are seeking an immediately available Assistant Management Accountant for a temporary assignment based in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to join a dynamic and supportive finance team within a well-established organisation.

You will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with management accounts preparation, month-end reporting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an office-based environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and possess excellent Excel and accounting system skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and update financial records and systems
  • Assist with variance analysis and budget monitoring
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries
  • Support audit preparation and provide relevant documentation
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by the Finance Manager
Key Requirements
  • Immediately available or available within 1 week
  • Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience in a similar management accounts or assistant accountant role
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
