Job summary

A leading luxury fashion brand in the UK is seeking an Assistant Garment Tech to join their Garment Tech Team. The role involves supporting fit comments, ensuring test reports, and conducting quality inspections. Ideal candidates will have experience with PLM Systems and a keen eye for quality. Qualifications

  • Previous experience using PLM System is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Garment Tech Team with fit comments and communicate specifications.
  • Ensure test reports for all cloth/yarn and conduct relevant bulk tests.
  • Conduct wearer trials on new fabrics and high-risk styles.
  • Make scheduled visits to the Warehouse for quality inspections.
  • Make shop visits in line with trends specified by the Design or Buying team.

We are looking for an Assistant Garment Tech to support the Garment Tech Team in their role, promoting the consistent manufacture of high-quality clothing in line with the brand's standards & golden rules.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support the Garment Tech Team with fit comments, communicate specifications, amendments, and size charts to the Supply Base.
  • Experience using PLM System previously would be an advantage.
  • To ensure there are test report (base) for all cloth/ yarn, interlining, trim, and artwork at the proto stage.
  • To ensure the relevant bulk tests & garment testing are requested, ensuring quality versus costs are considered.
  • To ensure a wearer trial is conducted on new fabric, high-risk style/ details, and action taken accordingly.
Additional Tasks
  • To make regularly scheduled visits to the Warehouse, to identify poor quality/ poor manufacture/ customer abuse. Or perform AQL inspections.
  • To make regularly scheduled shop visits in line with trends/retailers specified by the Design and or Buying team.
  • To co-ordinate (with the support of the Senior Garment Tech) and conduct a fit review, per season to ensure the brand's fit is correct and consistent.
  • Building and maintaining good working & professional relationships with the supply base.
