Assistant Financial Accountant
£40,000 to £42,000 | Burgess Hill | Very Remote Working | Study Support


Looking for a finance role that combines variety, progression, and the chance to make a meaningful impact? This position gives you exposure to core financial processes in a large hunting sector organisation while enjoying flexibility to manage your working pattern around your life. You’ll be part of a supportive team that encourages development and offers opportunities to broaden your experience across finance.


You’ll have the option to focus on either finance business partnering or financial accounting, depending on your skills and interests, with plenty of scope to develop across both areas. Either way, this role offers real responsibility, hands‑on experience, and visibility with key stakeholders.


What you’ll do


  • Assist with budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision making

  • Work with budget holders to provide guidance and respond to financial queries

  • Prepare and review monthly management reports and support budget reallocations

  • Take ownership of specific budget areas with oversight from senior colleagues

  • Support year-end reporting, statutory returns, and other financial submissions

  • Contribute to treasury and cashflow management, including investment activity

  • Assist with capital accounting, grant monitoring, and VAT compliance

  • Work across multiple finance systems in a large, dynamic organisation
