Assistant Farm Manager – Indoor Pig Unit – Worcestershire

Salary: £38,000 + Accommodation: 3–4 bedroom cottage provided

Job

An opportunity for an experienced livestock professional to step into an Assistant Farm Manager role on a modern 550-sow indoor breeding unit. You will support the Farm Manager in the day-to-day running of the herd, supervising staff, maintaining high welfare standards and ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This is a hands-on position, combining technical pig husbandry with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Farm Manager in day-to-day running of the herd on a 550-sow indoor breeding unit
  • Supervise staff and maintain high welfare standards
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operations with a hands-on approach to pig husbandry
  • Demonstrate leadership responsibilities and contribute to team development
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in pig farming (breeding herd experience desirable)
  • Strong animal husbandry and welfare knowledge
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff
  • Good organisational and record-keeping ability
  • Hands-on approach and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
