Job Purpose

Being part of the early advisory project team, the Manager is responsible for leading and delivering highly strategic outcomes for our clients via our engagements; independently planning, mobilising and delivering our projects within a timely manner. The Manager is also responsible for developing our Advisory Business; creating insightful marketing and thought‑leadership materials, and presenting to our clients and a wider audience (via conferences and subject‑matter engagements) in order to originate and secure our projects pipeline. This is a leadership role within the Early Advisory business, shaping and driving the energy transition narrative for our key clients and stakeholders.

Job Scope & Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary engagement project teams to deliver strategic objectives such as achieving Net Zero by 2030.
  • Manage teams that perform analytics; assess and dissect priority data and present findings to internal and external key stakeholders (executive leadership teams and government organisations).
  • Undertake interviews of leading industry experts while supporting, coaching and mentoring other team members.
  • Originate research that allows Genesis to deliver groundbreaking perspectives in the energy transition sector with private‑equity investors.
  • Coach and develop other team members.
  • Identify future opportunities with current clients; build client relationships and improve clients' understanding of drivers and challenges.
  • Support the Head of Advisory Solutions with business‑development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and client base; awareness of competitors' capabilities.
  • Responsible for proposal preparation and delivery.
  • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or client processes; accountable for the quality of service, assessed by client feedback forms.
  • Manage project performance and preserve project profitability executed as per proposal.
  • Provide leadership to a team of consultants and senior analysts, ensuring strong engagement and motivation of the team, focused on results KPIs.
  • Order intake – win work through delivering tenders and follow‑on work.
  • Project profitability – accountable for project profitability in line with the proposal.
  • Project delivery – ensure successful project execution and delivery along with client satisfaction of assigned projects.
  • Business development & client engagement – build client relations and support business‑development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and client base.
  • Innovative & collaborative – collaborate globally to explore new services and ways to optimise project execution and profitability, with focus on digitalisation.
  • Competency development – ensure we have the necessary competencies to execute projects and grow our business.
Typical Background and Experience Required
  • Significant experience in the energy industry, either as a consultant or engineer.
  • Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in management consulting and/or early‑stage techno‑economic studies.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, drive and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Advantageous Experience
  • Significant experience in engineering and/or early‑stage project cost estimating and economic analysis.
  • Oil and gas (upstream), LNG or refinery operations.
  • Strategy consulting or investment banking.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent.
