Job description

Main contractor requires an Assistant Design Manager to work on-site to support the design management process on a live industrial, logistics, or commercial project. There are several live and upcoming projects in the Home Counties to the North and West of London, so location may vary depending on project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Design Manager to develop their technical and professional skills within a collaborative delivery team and a company that prioritises the development and growth of all team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of project design management processes and controls.
  • Assist in design services procurement and definition of consultant scopes.
  • Manage design document control and RFIs in line with company protocols.
  • Liaise with client, project team and stakeholders on design issues.
  • Undertake design risk reviews and contribute to risk registers.
  • Prepare design progress summaries and contribute to reports.
  • Work to company quality, environmental and safety standards.
Ideal Candidate
  • Working towards a degree in a construction-related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year industry experience or relevant exposure.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness and willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
