A leading dairy co-operative in the UK is seeking a Cheese Quality Specialist to engage with customers and ensure cheese meets grading standards. This home-based role requires travel to customer sites and collaboration with manufacturing teams. Ideal candidates have a background in food manufacturing and sensory experience. The position includes an electric company car and a competitive salary, around £45k negotiable based on experience.

First Milk are growing their customer quality team, working alongside their long-standing Customer Quality Manager and cheese grader – Jack Eade, this person will learn all about cheese making, grading and get to know and build trust with their customers.
This role is the customers partner within First Milk, you will work with the customer grading teams and ensure our cheese meets requirements in terms of age and flavour profile. Internally this role supports the site manufacturing teams in continuously improving cheese quality.
First Milk are a co-operative owned by British family farms and a leader in practicing regenerative farming, they are also a certified B-Corp. They have cheese making sites in Haverfordwest – south west Wales and Aspatria in Cumbria. They also partner with cold storage facilities in Shropshire and Cheshire.
This is a home based role that will spend a day or part day each week at the cold store and will also spend some time at Haverfordwest to build up cheese manufacturing and business knowledge. Ideal location would be in south Wales or the M5 corridor between Bristol and Worcester.
An electric company car (or allowance) is offered with this role along with a strong benefits package. Salary guideline circa £45k negotiable dependent on experience.
We welcome applicants with experience in food manufacturing from Quality, Technical, Production and NPD, Food Science backgrounds. An element of sensory capability is required in the role.
