Job summary

A national mental health services provider in Macclesfield is seeking an Assistant Cook to prepare meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness. You will work 25 hours a week, including alternate weekends, in a supportive environment for adults with autism and learning disabilities. You'll be working 25hours a week(including working alternate weekends, shift pattern to be discussed at interview),creating an excellent experience for the people in our care at Broughton Lodge.

Broughton Lodge is a specialist residential service for adults with autism and a learning disability who may present with behaviours that may be of concern.

We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration. On site we have a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) who assist and support us to provide outcome based care and support pathways.

Your day-to-day...
  • Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
  • Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
  • Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
  • Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
