This newly created role is a great opportunity for a motivated and creative communicator to join the Active Suffolk team. As Assistant Communications Officer, you’ll support a wide range of place-based work by producing engaging content, shaping campaigns, and helping strengthen our position as a key advocate for physical activity and reducing inequalities across the county.

Your role:
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to take on this newly created position as an Assistant Communications Officer for the place-based partnership.
You will work as part of the Active Suffolk team to support our wide variety of work, utilising creative and impactful communications techniques to influence partners, drive engagement with and continue to position the organisation as a key advocate for physical activity and reducing inequalities across the county. You will also engage with partners from various sectors to help shape and support our continued work together to benefit our communities.
As part of your role, you will be carrying out a variety of different projects and tasks within our communications activity, including copywriting for social media and newsletters, creating eye-catching graphics, updating and managing our website, and providing admin support. You'll also help with event promotion, respond to media enquiries, and play a key part in delivering campaigns that inspire people across Suffolk to get active.

Active Suffolk has adopted a hybrid approach to give staff more flexibility on working arrangements. We work countywide and so some travel will be involved in this post and a flexible approach to working hours is required.

Your office base
Our main office is based at Riduna Park, Melton and is located directly opposite Melton train station with direct train links to Lowestoft and Ipswich. There are bike shelters and showers available on site. However, as with the above description of our hybrid working options, we are more than happy to consider local working arrangements across Suffolk in consultation with the candidate.
