About the role

Trading Lead Contract: Perm Recruitment Partner: Boots Opticians have an exciting opportunity within the Commercial function for a full time Trading Lead, based in our Nottingham Support Office. You will work with teams across the business and our suppliers to activate the commercial plan, supporting our store colleagues in delighting our customers every day. As Trading Lead, you will be part of a dynamic, commercially focussed team within Boots Opticians.

The Trading Team is responsible for the creation and delivery of the Trading and Promotional plan for all product categories. This role is all about activation and delivery. You will report into the Trading Manager and the role would include:

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for executing the store activation and engagement elements of the trade plan alongside other channels of activity to deliver revenue and profit growth.
  • Be seen as the trading engagement expert, holding a clear understanding of the internal communications channels for each area of the business.
  • Cross-functional coordination with key stakeholders including Marketing, Retail, Buying and Operations to ensure delivery of Commercial team projects to stores.
  • Support the delivery of new product launches, promotions and store incentives, owning the planning of this through brands and other cross functional teams.
  • Create and maintain close relationships with retail and store teams to ensure full understanding of their challenges, opportunities and processes, to drive continuous improvement and create advocacy of commercial priorities.
  • Write and present effective communications to engage and energise store team members.
What you'll need to have
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of building effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to draw insights from several sources to make recommendations and inform commercial decisions.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and Commercially astute with the ability to influence and energise at all levels to achieve 'buy in' from stakeholders.
  • A desire to get things right first time, with experience introducing fresh and innovative ideas.
