About The Role

We are assisting an established, but growing SME that is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join their expanding purchasing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow and develop within a business. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day purchasing operations, supporting the wider procurement team, and helping maintain strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and product data, including pricing, lead times, and contact details.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support reporting, KPI tracking, and purchasing analysis using Excel and ERP systems.
  • Provide administrative support and cover for team members when required.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a purchasing or supply chain role preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); ERP experience.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and progress within the role.
