Job Title: Assessor/Trainer Electrical Installations
Salary: £31,110 £36,157 per annum
Location: Cambridge

We are currently recruiting for a motivated and experienced Assessor/Trainer in Electrical Installations to join a leading Further Education provider's Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled industry professional who is passionate about developing apprentices and supporting the next generation of electrical engineers.

About the Role

In this role, you will oversee a caseload of electrical apprentices, guiding them throughout their learning journey. You will play a key part in developing their knowledge, skills, and behaviours, ensuring they are fully prepared for successful End Point Assessment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering high-quality training and ongoing learner support
  • Conducting workplace assessments and progress reviews
  • Monitoring and recording apprentice progress
  • Preparing learners for End Point Assessment
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers
  • Supporting business development initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and Health & Safety
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records

The role offers flexible working arrangements, including a blend of on-site delivery, workplace visits, and remote administrative work.

What we’re looking for
  • A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Domestic and Commercial Electrical Installation
  • Substantial, relevant industry experience
  • Assessor and/or IQA qualifications (desirable)
  • Previous experience in teaching or assessing
  • Strong understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA processes
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident IT skills and use of digital systems
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to work
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use, or the ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring areas
