Job description

Assembly Operative sought by a global, £multibillion plastics manufacturer with close to 200 locations worldwide. This is a permanent role, 39 hours per week Monday to Friday, based at their production facility in Hounslow, London.

The Role

As an Assembly Operative, you will join the team responsible for the production of the company's tambour door range. Your duties will include:

  • Working on the assembly line and producing our products based on specific measurements, calculations, drawings or instructions under the supervision of a Level 2 Assembly Operative or Supervisor
  • Packing boxes, loading and unloading materials and finished goods and adhering to safety protocols
  • Inspecting assembled products for any faults or defects
  • Reporting incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections on the assembly line to Supervisor/Production & Site Manager
  • Following established safety and efficiency procedures to ensure that operations run smoothly
Assembly Operative Person Specification
  • Previous experience in a similar Assembly Operative role
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage, but not essential
  • A solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures would be an advantage, but not essential
  • An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics would be an advantage, but not essential
  • The ability to lift heavy pieces of equipment (within safety guidelines)
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Takes pride in your work
  • The ability to understand and receive instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative
