Due to consistent growth of the business, this highly successful and dynamic asbestos company with a good presence throughout the UK is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self‑driven and commercially focused Asbestos Operations/Contracts Manager based in and around the Greater Manchester area. The successful candidate will undertake a split operations and contract management role. The ideal candidate has previous experience working as either an Asbestos Contracts Manager or an Asbestos Operational Manager. Applications will be considered from Liverpool, Preston, Warrington, Oldham and the surrounding areas.

The applicant will ideally come from a good educational/technical background and have extensive experience working within a contract management or operations role in the asbestos industry. Experience in asbestos removals is preferred. The candidate must be fully compliant with the Health and Safety procedures pertaining to asbestos, possess excellent organisational, presentation, people‑management, leadership, client‑facing and management skills, communicate well and be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Responsibilities
  • Manage asbestos site and office staff.
  • Over‑see large‑scaled asbestos removals contracts.
  • Recruit, train, develop staff and ensure proper procedures are followed including appraisals.
  • Oversee work carried out by asbestos removal teams, ensuring it complies with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Organise labour running.
  • Complete risk assessments and method statements, write tenders, PPQs, specifications, appraisals and ASB5 notifications.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • Assess potential contracts and produce estimates.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and delivery.
  • Collate and produce monthly management reports using company procedures and guidelines.
  • Attend meetings regularly and report any issues.
  • Support other offices – regionally and nationally – with staff allocation and resourcing.
  • Monitor targets and achieve continuous profit goals.
  • Win new contracts, cross‑sell the company’s other services to clients/customers, whilst still managing existing accounts.
  • Assist sales team.
  • Build and maintain good rapport with clients/customers.
Qualifications
  • Relevant educational/technical background in asbestos management.
  • Experience as an Asbestos Contracts Manager or Asbestos Operational Manager.
  • Proven track record in leading asbestos removal operations.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and produce method statements.
  • Strong leadership and client‑facing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid asbestos safety qualifications – p401, p402, p403, p404, p404 or s301 CCP.
