A government agency is seeking a motivated individual to provide first-line IT support and manage standalone services for military operations. This role involves overseeing IT assets, procurement, and budget management while ensuring efficient communication. Ideal candidates will have technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills essential for supporting operational effectiveness.
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants, with a significant focus on the Army, which employs around 12,000 Civil Servants across more than 300 locations supporting 110,000 soldiers, both regular and reserve. This diverse workforce includes police officers, security guards, trainers, HR professionals, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, financiers, project managers, and policy staff.
JMC Southeast is a stand-alone Joint Military Command (JMC) comprising Regular Army, Civil Service, Army Reservists, and Aspire contractors. HQSE manages the Army’s interests in eight counties in the South-East, including the Isle of Wight, focusing on 'UK Operations', 'Firm Base', 'Engagement', and 'Cadets.' Its responsibilities range from ensuring the readiness of the Field Army to commanding UK Resilience Operations, supporting the Army’s operational success.
JMC SE facilitates the delivery of the 'Firm Base'—the Army infrastructure supporting personnel and their families in the region. It provides real-life support to units, engages with the civilian community and employers, and acts as the proponent for UK Resilience during crises.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
