We’re looking for a new Area Manager to work across our Click & Collect and Sell Your Car functions covering branches across England.

Hours

Full time: Five days, 39 hours a week with 30-minute lunch. Working additional days may be required during peak periods with days off being given in lieu.

Location

The role holder will be ideally based in the centre of their region with good access to main motorway links. They will have a requirement to travel within their region with overnight stays required.

This role requires a highly motivated and organised individual who can work on their own initiative and can educate, motivate, build and influence across all levels of the business while acting as a brand ambassador to achieve high performance and excellent levels of customer satisfaction. We’re looking for someone to lead by example and motivate their team to achieve and exceed their targets while delivering a high standard of work

Day-to-day duties
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in relation to compliance, security and health and safety.
  • Manage performance to improve targets for increasing profitability and accuracy to reduce losses, actively participating in managing and setting such performance targets.
  • Train and coach staff, making sure they deliver great service and achieve monthly KPIs.
  • Promote the highest levels of customer service to our customers while maximising the performance of your region.
  • Be an advocate in the use of the company's purchasing/handover process and ensuring that it is compliant at all times.
  • Develop a culture of high achievement and the implementation of agreed best practices.
  • Carry out regular staff performance reviews and be involved in recruiting staff.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and create a working environment in which your staff can become successful.
Essential skills and experience
  • Three years’ experience in a customer-facing role, some of it in the retail sales marketplace
  • Can educate and influence customers of all levels and act as a brand ambassador to achieve high performance
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner at all levels in the company and with customers
  • Excellent time, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • The ability to lead by example while motivating your team to achieve and exceed targets while delivering a high standard of work
  • The ability to analyse trends to take the appropriate corrective actions
  • Have a good knowledge of digital tools that can be used to increase productivity
Nice to have but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Good knowledge of cars and vans
  • Have a keen eye for detail when inspecting vehicles to ensure the condition is accurately reflected on the online purchasing platform
  • An understanding of the mechanics of a Click & Collect service
  • An understanding of the ‘sales journey’ in the automotive industry
