Qualifications

Architectural Professional

Salary: 26-36,000

Location: Cornwall

A well-established, multidisciplinary architectural and engineering consultancy is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join its team. The firm delivers a wide range of projects across the UK, with particular expertise in heritage conservation, historic building works, MoD estates, and civil/structural engineering. Its portfolio includes commercial and residential developments, iconic historic buildings, defence estates, and sensitive heritage sites. The work is primarily technical and site-focused, involving detailed surveys, inspections, regulatory compliance, and preparation of construction packages- sometimes more than new design work. The firm welcomes applications from Part 1 and Part 2 Architectural Assistants as well as qualified Architects, provided candidates understand the role's technical emphasis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and manage technical drawing packages using CAD/BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD & Revit)
  • Prepare planning, building regulation, and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with UK standards
  • Conduct building surveys, site visits, and inspections, including heritage sites, MoD estates, and other complex projects, with occasional national travel
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, engineers, and other disciplines to coordinate project delivery
  • Work independently where needed, using initiative and problem-solving to meet deadlines and budgets
Ideal Candidate
  • Degree (or HNC/HND) in Architectural Technology, or related discipline, or actively pursuing a relevant qualification
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software
  • Demonstrable experience in building surveying, technical detailing, and project delivery, ideally including historic or complex buildings, heritage sites, or MoD estates
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction standards
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills; able to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Confident, proactive, and hands-on, with commitment to delivering high-integrity technical work
