What you will do
  • – Conduct thorough Mental Health Act assessments, including screening, triage, and crisis evaluations, ensuring decisions are made in complex and high-risk situations with precision and care.
  • – Decide on informal admissions, compulsory admissions, and guardianship applications under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended), using your expertise to guide the process.
  • – Collaborate effectively with service users, their families, carers, and various professionals and agencies, ensuring holistic care planning and interventions.
  • – Apply a deep understanding of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Care Act 2014 to support your assessments and interventions.
  • – Facilitate discharge planning by engaging with local authorities, health services, and community teams to ensure seamless continuity of care for service users.
  • – Maintain meticulous documentation, including statutory and non-statutory reports, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness required for tribunals and hearings.
  • – Advocate positive risk-taking that upholds the rights and dignity of individuals throughout the assessment and care planning process.
  • – Participate actively in multi-agency meetings, contributing to safeguarding efforts and public protection arrangements as necessary.
