Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker? 3D Recruit is working with Westminster City Council to recruit a Qualified Social Worker for the Joint Homelessness Team (JHT). This is a senior role for an experienced mental health practitioner, combining leadership, clinical practice, and outreach work with individuals who are homeless and sleeping rough in Westminster.

About the Team

The Joint Homelessness Team (JHT) is a multi-disciplinary statutory mental health service supporting individuals who are homeless and sleeping rough in Westminster. The team\'s core aim is to reduce rough sleeping by helping those with severe and enduring mental health needs access appropriate treatment, care, support, and accommodation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise social work staff and oversee their caseloads.
  • Lead on social care delivery, including Care Act eligibility, personal budgets, no recourse to public funds, and Section 117 aftercare under the Mental Health Act.
  • Act as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) and investigate safeguarding concerns.
  • Promote recovery and self-care, working collaboratively with individuals, families, and carers.
  • Chair clinical and team meetings as required.
  • Hold a small caseload and undertake clinical social work activities.
  • Practise as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for the team and participate in the central AMHP rota.
  • Maintain AMHP approval and registration with Social Work England.
  • Conduct assessments via street outreach, day centres, and hostels.
  • Carry out and record Care Act assessments and make necessary referrals.
  • Lead on hospital discharge planning and manage longer-term service users in partnership with health colleagues.
  • Participate in the team\'s duty system.
Essential Requirements
  • Recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • ESSENTIAL: Current or recent AMHP warranting.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Children Act, and Care Act.
  • Proven ability to assess and manage risk.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
  • Experience in performance management and achieving targets.
  • Understanding of mental health disorders and their relationship to physical health.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workload.
  • Right to work in the UK.
