Apprenticeship Skills Tutor - Plastering

Location: Rotherham
Salary: £38,487 per annum
Hours: Full-Time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

The Role

We are working on behalf of a well-established education provider to recruit an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor - Plastering. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, assessment, and support to apprentices, ensuring they develop the practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective apprenticeship training in Plastering, both on-site and in the workplace
  • Assess apprentice competence against apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements
  • Carry out regular workplace visits to monitor progress, provide feedback, and support employer engagement
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching sessions aligned with apprenticeship frameworks and end-point assessment requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records, assessments, and progress reviews
  • Support apprentices with functional skills, off-the-job training requirements, and personal development
  • Work closely with employers to ensure training meets industry needs and compliance standards
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
  • Occupational competence in Plastering with relevant industry experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
  • Assessing qualification TAQA / A1 / D32-D33
  • Experience delivering or assessing apprenticeships within a construction setting (desirable)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
