Job description

Laing O’Rourke are looking for an ApprenticeMulti-skilled Maintenance Engineer to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship and join their team.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.

What you’ll do at work
  • Supporting the operations of a modern manufacturing facility, the role will include applying your technical skills to overcome problems
  • Electrical exposure to PLC’s and fault finding, installing and wiring up new equipment, understanding electrical drawings, testing electrical components, isolation and inspection of electrical items, including exposure to both the LV & HV Networks
  • Mechanical exposure will include hydraulics, welding, overhauling and installing mechanical components, understanding engineering drawings and bench fitting activities in the workshop
  • The type of work will vary from inspections, servicing and project-based work, with the aim to become more reliable

  • Full mobility to enable travel to various project locations
