Overview

CPI has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Lab Technician to join our Formulation facility in Sedgefield. As an Apprentice Lab Technician, you will be involved in all things lab-based, including conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments, and collecting and testing samples. You will gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art lab while completing a Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification.

Projects

Recent projects include: Edible ink formulation to enable personalised confectionery; accelerating the development of nanomedicines.

Responsibilities
  • To help streamline laboratory operations to enable fellow scientists to focus on the design and technical delivery of projects.
  • To assist with the maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure it operates in a safe and efficient manner and is available to meet customer needs.
  • To prepare for and perform laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures, and methods relevant to the activities of the laboratory.
Qualifications
  • You must be qualified to at least GCSE level with a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 or equivalent, including English, Mathematics and Science.
  • Effective communication with colleagues and customers, high attention to detail, and a proactive, reliable, professional approach to work.
  • Commitment to timekeeping and reliability; willingness to participate in a Disability Confident employer scheme where appropriate.
