Are you looking to start your career in finance? Shredall are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join their team. This apprenticeship provides exposure to a variety of accounting duties while you study towards a Level 3 AAT with EMA training, perfect for progressing into an accounting role.

Hours
Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm (38 hours per week). The business may ask you to stay until 5:00pm on a Friday if required.

What you'll do at work
- Respond to customer queries via telephone and email
- Process customer card payments through SagePay
- Create invoices and credit notes
- Produce monthly and ad‑hoc reports and management information for customers and the Shredall Group
- Assist with month‑end procedures, ensuring deadlines are met
- Support new projects, processes and procedures as required
- General office administration
- Maintain health, safety, quality and environmental procedures, and care of equipment and materials
- Provide additional support across accounts department areas as required
- Assist with debt chasing and credit control – contacting customers, sending statements and letters for key accounts

- Investigate and respond to financial information queries
- Record and analyse financial data using standard tools
- Apply double‑entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to produce financial statements
- Prepare accurate financial information for accounts
- Reconcile financial data, preparing and reviewing reconciliations
- Resolve or escalatae transactional queries and errors
- Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- Use digital skills to present key financial information with finance and accounting software
- Use software securely, backing up data and complying with cyber security requirements
- Utilise various media methods, understanding risks and benefits of social media and digital applications
