Qualifications

Base Salary - starting salary is £16,762.31 per annum, increasing to £19,000 2nd year, £21,000 3rd year and £26,000 in the final year. These increments are only applicable once targets are achieved.

Apprentice Workshop Engineer – Milton Keynes

Position Overview:

As an Apprentice Workshop Engineer, you’ll be an important part of our Engineering Team in Milton Keynes. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and learn how to maintain and repair the equipment that keeps our production lines running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain valuable skills in mechanical engineering while supporting the plant’s operations. You’ll report to theEngineering Supervisorand receive full training and support throughout your apprenticeship.

What You’ll Learn and Do:

  • How to safely maintain and support essential plant services likecompressors, boilers, and water towers
  • How torepair and refurbishmechanical parts such asrollers, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • How to assist withproduction line breakdowns and equipment changeovers
  • How to use workshop machinery likelathes, grinders, and manual milling machines
  • Exposure to in house Welding and Fabrication
  • How to manage and organiseengineering tools and spare parts
  • How to supportengineering projectsand improvements across the plant
  • The importance ofworkplace safety and cleanlinessin a busy workshop environment
  • Participate inmaintenance daysand planned engineering activities

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine interest inmechanical engineeringand how things work
  • Awillingness to learnand work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude and the ability to follow instructions safely
  • A basic understanding of tools and machinery (desirable but not essential)

What You’ll Need:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) inMaths, English, and Science– Grade 4/C or above preferred
  • A desire to complete aMechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • A commitment to learning bothon the job and through college-based training
