A local government authority in England is seeking a candidate for application support, focused on Children’s Services. The role involves supporting business-critical applications, managing workloads, and coordinating system upgrades. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT support and a strong background in problem-solving. The focus of the team is application support for Hampshire County Council across the Directorates, with a focus on Children’s Services. We work on compliance, analysis, configuration, and testing of changes alongside the business‑as‑usual support of these critical systems. The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, and flexible, with excellent interpersonal skills. You will work in a dynamic environment supporting business‑critical applications and have a background in IT, supporting and configuring business applications. Knowledge of local authority business processes is an advantage, and you will possess effective problem‑solving skills to manage and resolve complex support incidents.
You will take initiative and responsibility for leading work streams. You will plan your own and others’ workloads, prioritise tasks, and coordinate system upgrades to ensure our applications remain compliant and secure. You should have experience in functional, system, and acceptance testing, and be able to work with users to develop and understand business requirements.

This role will be based at our Winchester offices.
