We have a strong collaborative and open culture, and we expect you to understand and prioritise security when implementing new features, fixing bugs or making technical improvements across all layers. We are focused on accessibility and writing clean, maintainable code, and you should be self-driven with ownership of building, shipping, maintaining code, sharing knowledge, and improving processes to deliver the best results for customers. We emphasise testing as a key quality, using Espresso for UI/E2E tests, JUnit for unit tests, and manual testing before production. We work closely with QA engineers to ensure thorough testing for complex features. We are building SDKs and collaborating on multiple banking projects internationally, and we value developers who can adapt to a fast-paced fintech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to our award-winning Android app and internal tooling
  • Build new features and products from scratch in a configurable way
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to a learning culture
  • Own projects and work in small teams across the bank to deliver
  • Aim for greatness, staying curious and inquisitive
  • Be part of a scaling team as we change banking for good
  • Make decisions necessary for the project and provide insight to team leads
  • Collaborate with other Android engineers to improve the app, CI automations and tooling
  • Commit, review and ship code from the first week
Qualifications / Experience

  • Understanding of architecture components and modern Android libraries
  • Familiarity with libraries and technologies such as Dagger, Realm, Retrofit, Coil, Compose, Coroutines; migrating from XML layouts and RxJava2 is a plus
  • Experience maintaining libraries or contributing to OSS and knowledge of Internationalisation is beneficial
  • Interest in accessibility, security, testing and high-quality code
  • Ability to thrive in a self-driven, ownership-focused environment
