Title: Analytical Chemist (Metals)

Location: Cheshire West

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Term: Permanent

Role / Description
  • Managing and supporting the analytical laboratory to deliver analytical services internally and to external clients
  • Analytical techniques include Elemental Analysis (ICP-OES, LECO), Metallography (Optical Microscopy, SEM-EDX) and XRF
  • Physical testing (e.g., particle size distribution, thickness measurements)
  • Supporting in the validation of analytical methods
  • Reporting data to a wide range of audiences including both technical and non‑technical
  • Analysing and reporting of results of analysis
  • Supporting in the maintenance, troubleshooting and upkeep of analytical techniques
Requirements
  • Minimum BSc degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Recent, proven background in elemental analysis and metallography
  • Proactive and committed approach, with good communication and team‑working skills
  • Previous experience working under ISO 17025 would be desirable
  • Driver's licence and access to a car - as site can be difficult to get to
  • Full right to work in the UK
