At CDPQ:
Within CDPQ London’s Real estate investment team, the selected candidate supports senior team members across all aspects of the investment lifecycle, from sourcing to portfolio management. They contribute to the evaluation of direct and platform-level investments across a range of sectors and geographies, with responsibilities spanning financial modelling, market analysis, due diligence, and asset performance optimisation.
The analyst will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure in a high-performing, entrepreneurial real estate team investing institutional capital in complex, large-scale opportunities.
What you will do
Build, maintain and audit financial models (DCF, LBO structures, residual analysis, development appraisal, JV waterfalls, and sensitivity/scenario analyses);
Conduct underwriting for real estate assets and platforms, assessing returns, risk, and strategic fit;
Underwrite complex capital structures, analyse debt financing options, develop interest rate hedging strategies, and support the execution of debt packages from term sheet through closing;
Prepare investment committee materials including detailed presentation packs;
Engage directly with brokers, consultants, and partners to gather critical inputs for transaction evaluation/underwriting;
Coordinate internal and external workstreams during due diligence, including legal, tax, technical, and financial review;
Support the origination process by screening potential investment opportunities against established investment criteria;
Conduct site visits and property inspections as part of the due diligence process;
Assist with structuring and negotiating transaction terms alongside senior team members;
Analyse asset performance metrics including leasing, capex, occupancy, and income variance;
Assist with quarterly and annual portfolio reporting, business plan updates, and reforecasting;
Contribute to value creation planning and execution in coordination with operating partners and senior management;
Monitor KPIs across assets and identify risks and opportunities in performance;
Monitor sustainability metrics and ESG performance across the portfolio;
Conduct research on markets, sectors, operators, and macro trends to support investment theses and identify emerging opportunities and risks;
Support relationship management with operating partners, brokers, and other industry contacts.

What you bring
Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in finance, economics, real estate, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline;
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or a real estate investment platform;
Advanced financial modelling skills (DCF, LBO, debt structuring, JV waterfalls);
Strong understanding of valuation, capital structure, financial statements, and return metrics (IRR, MOIC, RoE, CoC etc);
Knowledge of real estate asset classes (office, residential, industrial, retail, alternatives) and their operational characteristics;
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
Mastery of English, both spoken and written, and additional knowledge of French, German, or Spanish being an asset;
Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and abroad.
