Job Description

Job Summary

As an Analyst, Credit Investment Operations, you will support the Investment teams with start of day and end-of-day reconciliations, asset servicing, investment accounting, reporting and valuations for either public or private assets. You will also assist with basic day-to-day evaluation, accounting, and monitoring of relevant investment portfolios covering all security types and asset classes.

Team Description

The Credit Operations team in London is part of a global platform of investment professionals supporting credit activities across the Toronto, London and APAC regions. The team oversees operational execution for all credit asset classes, ensuring accurate trade capture, lifecycle management, asset servicing, reconciliations and valuations. Working closely with investment, finance, legal and risk partners, the team enables efficient transaction execution, maintains robust controls and supports the delivery of timely, high-quality portfolio information for public and private credit strategies.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Finance, Legal, and Risk to assist in investment closings through documentation review, system setups, transaction entries and settlements.
  • Help manage investment maintenance and servicing; ensure investments are accurately always represented, track upcoming activity, reconcile records, and process activities.
  • Assist in processing investments with the ability to understand impact on trading, reporting and performance.
  • Assist in the quarterly / monthly valuation review; ensure valuation adjustments are accurately recorded and bring any errors / inconsistencies to management’s attention. Provide insightful valuation analysis.
  • Identify and promptly elevate irregular activities or issues and assist management in determining corrective action.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an ongoing effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved, financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
  • Support in daily validation and reconciliation and sub- ledger of books and records related to position - keeping, deal pipe- line and trade lifecycle management.
  • Continually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced controls and data integrity (with a focus on using Gen AI tools).
  • Interest in Gen AI tools (including data parsing and scraping) and overall comfort with data. Passion for improving process with technology.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field. Professional designations such as CBV, CFA, CPA are considered an asset. Strong analytical, financial and management accounting skills will be necessary to perform this role.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems.
  • Solid understanding of debt instruments and investment accounting
  • Sentry and SCD knowledge a strong advantage.
  • LMA and LSTA documentation knowledge important.
