Overview

Analysis Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a well established business operating in the subsea/ offshore industry, with their appointment of a Analysis Engineer to join their technical team focusing on analysis of offshore umbilicals and cables.

The role will strengthen the Engineering Department and duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities
  • Use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and sketching to provide conceptual and detailed designs.
  • Analysis of mechanical systems using hand calculations and non-linear FEA with ANSYS.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business, take ownership of design development, manufacturing, testing and take appropriate corrective actions where required.
  • Lead and monitor analysis on live projects to ensure deliverables are met, and contribute towards ongoing improvement of analysis techniques.
  • Prepare and review analysis input data.
  • Build and develop analysis models and methodologies.
  • Technical document writing to support the Development, Sales, Project, and Manufacturing phases.
  • Creation and checking of calculations, manufacturing drawings and general arrangements to support the products through their life cycle.
  • Management of production tooling CAD and providing manufacturing support
  • Support project delivery and client interfaces with efficient delivery of engineering deliverables.
  • Partake in client meetings, presenting technical aspects of the project delivery.
Qualifications / About you
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or relevant subject
  • Subsea, Oil & Gas or Renewables experience
  • Experienced with a range of analysis methods and 3D CAD for design
  • Experience using design FEA analysis tools such as ANSYS, Abacus and Orcaflex
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • A good understanding of mechanical principles
  • Experienced understanding customer needs and able to communicate well with the organisation and internal teams.
Employment Details

Full-time & permanent 37.5 hours/week, Monday - Friday. Hybrid working available.
