Responsibilities

• Safely identify, prepare, check and assemble required equipment for operating lists.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area for patients.
• Support patients and families, ensuring effective communication.
• Contribute to the development of patient care in theatres.
• Demonstrate clinical assessment skills for surgical procedures.

Education

Current NMC/HCPC registration

At least 1 year's post‑graduate experience

6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years

Job description

Client Name: Southend University Hospital

Role: Anaesthetic Nurse

Rates: £16.48 - £21.24 per hour

Shifts: Available Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00

Key Responsibilities:

• To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using various methods to ensure effective understanding.
• Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current NMC/HCPC registration
• At least 1 year's post‑graduate experience.
• 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years
