AMR Senior Policy Advisor

Contract : 6 months temporary

Salary : £46,060

Hours : Full-time

Working pattern : Hybrid

The Role

We’re recruiting an AMR Senior Policy Advisor to join a busy policy team within a public‑sector–aligned organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of national policy delivery on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), supporting a One Health approach across government and stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for leading, advising on, and coordinating AMR policy, contributing to both domestic and international initiatives, and helping to shape the UK’s long‑term AMR strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead AMR policy development and delivery across government, promoting a One Health approach
  • Support the maintenance, promotion, and evolution of domestic and international AMR policy positions
  • Prepare high-quality written and oral briefings, submissions, parliamentary questions, and ministerial correspondence
  • Develop and deliver international engagement plans, supporting bilateral and multilateral AMR priorities
  • Represent the team at domestic and international meetings, conferences, and stakeholder events
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of AMR communication materials and activities, in collaboration with communications colleagues
  • Monitor and report on progress under the national AMR action plan
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrable ability to grasp complex concepts quickly
  • Experience of developing policy in a government or public‑sector environment
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment where time management and prioritisation are essential
  • A self‑starter who can lead projects, apply critical thinking and sound judgement, and work independently and collaboratively
