Job description
Role Purpose:

PIC is seeking an Investment Platform Services Manager to support the Head of Investment Platform Services and lead relationship management for key third‑party investment and operational platforms, including BlackRock’s Aladdin, Finbourne, and Murex.

The role combines deep platform expertise, strong business understanding, technical problem‑solving, and effective change delivery. The successful candidate will work across teams to deliver platform enhancements, meet complex business requirements, and respond to evolving regulatory and market demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Expertise and Support: Serve as a senior subject matter expert, providing high‑quality guidance and technical support on complex platform issues.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong internal and external relationships to ensure platform capabilities are well understood, effectively used, and continuously improved.

Risk and Control Awareness: Identify and escape risks, dependencies, and compliance considerations related to platform usage.

Solution Design and Value Delivery: Work with users to understand requirements, advise on platform capabilities, and design practical, value‑adding solutions.

Change Enablement: Partner with internal teams to plan and deliver initiatives affecting the investment platform, representing the platform in change forums and projects.

Vendor Relationship Management: Act as the primary day‑to‑day contact for the platform provider.

Continuous Improvement: Enhance platform usage, support processes, and internal knowledge‑sharing.

Reporting and Insight: Deliver timely updates, metrics, and insights to stakeholders and governance groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience working in a regulated (PRA or FCA) corporate environment in the Finance sector, (E.g. banking, asset management, insurance or hedge fund)

Technical
  • Deep functional expertise of BlackRock's Aladdin ideally with knowledge of either Finbourne's LUSID, and/or Murex
  • Strong understanding of investment processes and systems, including order management, portfolio construction, trading, compliance, settlements, reconciliations, and corporate actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external vendors and internal teams to deliver change
  • Proven experience collaborating with investment operations and front‑office teams
  • Solid knowledge of major asset classes, particularly Fixed Income and Derivatives

  • Able to shift effectively between strategic thinking and hands‑on delivery
  • Skilled at building trusted relationships across business, technology, and change functions
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Sound commercial judgement
