Qualifications

• Must have been living in Northern Ireland/UK for the last 3 years continuously.
• A passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to get to the airport at all times of the day, starting from as early as 02:45am.
• Must be flexible with shift timings.
• Must be over the age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Use equipment for people and bag searches to prevent prohibited items.
• Operate X-ray machines for screening bags per compliance standards.
• Manage airport access by verifying IDs and documents.
• Provide assistance and high levels of customer service.
• Respond as a first responder to incidents for safety.
• Conduct regular patrols and handle security reports.
• Maintain security compliance and document incidents.

Airport Security Officer

Permanent

Location: Belfast International Airport

Hours: 5 on 3 off shift pattern

Shifts will be between 03:00-23:59. The exact shift will be discussed in the interview. The options will include:

• 5 on 3 off (all early shifts 03:00-14:00)
• 5 on 3 off (all late shifts 11:45-23:59)
• 5 on 3 off (2 late, 1 middle, 2 early)

Pay: Earn £12.21 per hour and then once you have completed all of the required training this increases to £12.60 per hour

About the Role

As an Airport Security Officer, you will be at the heart of our airport operations, ensuring the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and visitors. Your duties will include:

• People and Bag Search: Use advanced equipment and manual search techniques to ensure no prohibited items are brought into the airport.
• X-ray Screening: Operate X-ray machines to screen bags and personal items, ensuring compliance with airport security standards.
• Access Control: Manage access to the airport by verifying identification and travel documents for passengers, staff, and airport users.
• Customer Support: Provide assistance and high levels of customer service, resolving queries, and guiding passengers through their airport journey.
• Emergency Response: Be a first responder to incidents, including aircraft emergencies, providing crucial support and ensuring safety.
• Patrolling and Incident Response: Conduct regular patrols of airside and landside areas, attend to security reports, and carry out aircraft guarding and escort duties.
• Security Compliance: Adhere to all security notices, and maintain clear and concise documentation of any incidents.
