THE ROLE

JOB TITLE: Agricultural & Rural Land Solicitor
PQE: 1 - 4 Years
LOCATION: Thames Valley (Hybrid Working Available)

A leading regional law firm with an established reputation in the agricultural and rural property sector is looking to appoint a Solicitor to join their expanding Agricultural and Rural Land team. Following a period of strong growth the firm is investing further in the team and offers a rare opportunity to build a career at the forefront of rural legal services. You will work on a wide variety of matters within the agricultural and rural land sector, ranging from traditional rural property transactions to highly specialist and strategic projects. The role offers real scope to develop, with support from experienced Partners and a structured career path. Typical work will include:

  • Sales and acquisitions of agricultural land and estates
  • Agricultural and farm-related tenancies (including succession rights and surrenders)
  • Property development and diversification projects
  • Renewable energy transactions and sustainability schemes
  • Drafting overage provisions, easements, and wayleaves
  • Strategic land advice and rural commercial ventures
  • Biodiversity net gain, carbon offsetting, and other environmental incentives
  • You’ll work closely with a cross-disciplinary team that includes litigation, private client, corporate, and tax specialists, supporting a wide client base of farmers, landowners, rural businesses, educational institutions, and investors.
THE CANDIDATE
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (1–4 years PQE ideal, but all levels considered)
  • Experience in rural or commercial property law
  • A genuine interest in the agricultural and rural sectors
  • Strong communication and client care skills
  • Commercially astute, with a pragmatic and detail-oriented approach
  • Keen to get involved in networking and business development
