Job description

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Agricultural Manager (Poultry) to join the team to support our contracted production farms to ensure they continue to meet our high standards from a technical/compliance perspective. You'll gain a good working knowledge of the farms and work with their owners to ensure they understand the sourcing requirements for the business. With animal welfare and bird performance being at the forefront you'll support supplying farms to ensure they are supplying efficient and high-quality poultry to meet our customer requirements. The successful candidate will support broiler farms throughout the production cycle to ensure birds are managed to compliance standards and provide technical support to farmers during this time, this role will involve working closely with farmers to meet target KPIS and ensure bird welfare is strictly maintained and technical performance is maximised. With previous experience in a similar role, you'll be a sound decision maker who can work autonomously, you'll be comfortable managing others through your people management skills, and you will be able to coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure the continuous working of the supplying farms.

Responsibilities

• Support broiler farms throughout the production cycle to ensure birds are managed to compliance standards.
• Provide technical support to farmers during production to meet target KPIs and maintain bird welfare.
• Work with farm owners to ensure understanding of sourcing requirements and business standards.
• Coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure the continuous operation of supplying farms.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years' experience in technical agricultural support role and/or a third level qualification in agriculture or a related food subject area.
• Broiler growing experience/Field management experience.
• Good communicator at all levels.
• Professionalism and confidence with ability to deal with conflict.
• Ability to handle livestock and support farmers in reviewing bird performance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Organisational skills and the ability to manage a diary.
• People management skills and experience.
• Responsible attitude with attention to detail.
• An awareness of Red Tractor compliance standards.
• Motivational/change management skills.
• Clean driving licence.
