Job description

The company is an established and leading manufacturer of safety hardware and solutions to various industries such as defence, rail, automotive and marine.

They are seeking to recruit a Technical Engineer for their operations in the Redditch area.

Salary - circa £40k - £45k per annum.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm.

The main responsibility of the role is to provide technical assistance and support to customers after the product has been despatched, including technical troubleshooting and investigation of product on return to ensure customer satisfaction and needs are met.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to customers.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues via problem solving, recommend and investigate solutions and preventative measures, perform repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions.
  • Close collaboration with quality and engineering teams to resolve complex issues and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Manage warranty claims and ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate proactively with clients in a timely manner.
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • On site support on client premises when required.
Experience and qualifications
  • A strong technical engineering background required.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good CAD Design experience.
  • Previously worked in a parts returns, warranty and service environment.
  • Has some degree of supervision or managerial experience.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills – able to analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pro‑active approach and good problem solver.
  • Able to work independently and multi‑task.
  • Hold a valid driving license and willing to visit client sites when required (approx once a month).

The company is based in Redditch so is commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Solihull, Worcester, Droitwich, Dudley, Stratford upon Avon, Evesham.
