Job Summary

Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Manager - Rosemary Medical Centre, Parkstone, Poole, Dorset. Part‑time: 25‑30 hours per week, ideally Monday‑Thursday 10:00‑16:30 with flexibility for the right candidate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly skilled advanced nurse practitioner with leadership skills to influence service delivery and shape the development of our nursing team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality clinical care, including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions, prescribing, and treating patients with specialist assessment.
  • Triage and coordinate care for patients, ensuring proper referrals to multidisciplinary teams and secondary services.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support to nursing staff, ensuring safe skill‑mix and workload management.
  • Lead on clinical governance: audits, quality improvement projects and evidence‑based practice development.
  • Engage in health‑improvement initiatives, screening programmes and innovation in practice to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporary patient records, ensure clinical systems are up‑to‑date and fulfil professional administration duties.
  • Participate in training and personal development activities and support staff development programmes.
  • Act as a line manager, promote staff potential, support recruitment and maintain effective communication with practice management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Independent/Supplementary Nurse Prescriber.
  • MSc or Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills: comprehensive history, clinical examination, diagnosis, decision‑making and care planning.
  • Leadership experience in a primary‑care setting, including line‑management and service improvement.
  • Membership of a professional body and relevant first‑level degree (essential).
    Master’s degree or leadership/management qualification (desirable).

Experience
  • Practical experience within a primary‑care team, using initiative and computerized recording systems.
