Job Summary
Are you a dynamic, forward‑thinking ACP with proven experience in Urgent & Emergency Care? This is your chance to lead, inspire and shape the future of patient care in our standalone Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) serving our vibrant coastal community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in delivering high standards of patient care, embed clinical policies, guidelines and standardise clinical governance within the service area.
- Lead service development and change in practices, such as triage.
- Undertake day‑to‑day management of the department.
- Exercise a high degree of autonomy and complex decision‑making across an expanded scope of practice.
- Work with the Service Manager, Operations Lead and matron to develop the service, audit performance and complete reports.
- Execute the four pillars of clinical practice – leadership and management, education and research – demonstrating core capabilities and area‑specific clinical competencies.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
- Current professional registration – HPC or NMC.
- Independent non‑medical prescribing.
- MSc qualified or equivalent digital badge in a relevant area.
- Demonstration of the four pillars in Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Advanced understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within the identified clinical area.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching qualification.
- Leadership qualification.
- Qualification in Minor Illness/Minor Injuries or Paediatric Minor Illness/Ailments.
- Good working knowledge of relevant IT systems to own area of work.
- Quality Improvement qualification.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working in the specific field the post is held.
- Evidence of sound post‑registration professional practice.
- Proven leadership experience with examples of cultural change in service delivery.
- Minimum 5 years post‑registration experience; at least 3 years in the relevant clinical area; experience managing complex cases.
Desirable Experience
- Advanced clinical practice skills within a specific area of practice/speciality.
- Experience in service development, protocol writing or project management.
- Experience in a UTC or ED and leadership in service development.
- Report writing.
