A large healthcare organization is seeking an Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join their clinical pharmacy team. This role involves providing clinical support across various surgical specialties and mentoring junior staff. We're looking for a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician with significant experience in a hospital environment, good communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously. This position offers 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for flexible working arrangements.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the clinical pharmacy team at Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals, as part of a new service, working closely with pre-assessment services and clinics at the Royal Victoria Infirmary to ensure patients medicines are reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner prior to their admission to hospital for elective procedures.
The role will bring you into contact with many surgical specialties across the Trust and you will join a team of experienced Pharmacists and technicians to provide clinical Pharmacy support to areas where patients routinely attend for planned surgery and procedures.
You will be given the opportunity to build experience and expertise in a wide variety of clinical settings and will be expected to attend multidisciplinary meetings where appropriate. You will help support senior pharmacy staff in promoting the safe, effective and economic use of medicines via audit and guideline development as well as providing support and training to nursing staff, Pharmacy Technicians, junior Pharmacists and students.
As a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician you will be required to work autonomously, referring to senior colleagues when required to do so. You will be expected to use your professional judgement to make decisions, and the role will include elements of staff and student management as well as education and training.
As this is a new post, we are looking for an innovative individual who is keen to work dynamically to ensure the service runs smoothly and efficiently.
