Job description
Responsibilities
  • Aid design, implementation and maintenance of processes to optimise productivity
  • Ensuring manufacturing plant and equipment is running efficiently while meeting quality and safety standards
  • Finding creative solutions to problems, assisting with preventive maintenance plans, analysing processes and helping to make improvements in a highly complex and varied manufacturing site
  • Designing and developing new control systems
  • Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems
  • Analysing data and presenting findings
  • Fault diagnosis of PLC and SCADA systems
  • Working with design engineers and operational functions
  • Analysing systems and processes to implement improvements
Qualifications
  • Engineering maintenance technician – single discipline / Skills England qualification (to be achieved through the state‑of‑the‑art Academy for Skills and Knowledge (ASK) in Samlesbury: 3 days each week during the first year, with transport provided).
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9‑4 / A‑C, which must include Maths & English and a Science / Technical subject
