Office Administrator - Street Lighting Maintenance

Essential Infrastructure Support: Immediate Start Contract

Are you a highly meticulous and reliable administrator seeking a consistent, long-term role near Cambridge? Join my clients team as an Office Administrator managing the commercial and logistical documentation for a critical street lighting maintenance contract.

  • Rate: £14.00 per hour (PAYE)
  • Duration: Immediate Start (ASAP) until March 2026
  • Location: 4 Rowles Way, Buckingway Business Park, Swavesey, CB24 4UG
  • Work Pattern: Full-Time (42 hours), Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (100% In Office)
Your Mission: Maintaining Operational Compliance

You will be the central administrative anchor for the contract, focused on accurate record-keeping, procurement support, and ensuring the smooth flow of paperwork for field teams.

  • Data & Document Control: Managing all incoming and outgoing construction documentation, including meticulous logging, scanning, and filing of maintenance reports, permits, and correspondence.
  • Procurement & Purchasing: Processing purchase requisitions and orders for consumables and materials needed by field teams, ensuring efficient supply chain flow.
  • Financial Administration: Preparing and submitting invoices for processing and assisting the commercial team with payment verification and reconciliation tasks.
  • Plant & Equipment Tracking: Managing and updating reports related to plant and vehicle allocation, ensuring accurate records of equipment deployment for site safety and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Audits: Maintaining essential health and safety records, operative training matrix data, and internal databases to ensure the contract remains audit-ready.
  • General Office Support: Handling telephone queries from site managers, clients, and suppliers; managing office supplies inventory; and directing administrative traffic.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: Proven administrative experience, ideally within construction, utilities, highways, or engineering.
  • Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for tracking and reporting).
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and strong time-management skills.
  • Commitment: Must be available for an ASAP start and comfortable with a full-time, office-based schedule in Swavesey.
