A national health service in Scotland is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support Senior Charge Nurses at Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will be responsible for comprehensive administrative tasks and acts as the first point of contact in a hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and excellent interpersonal skills. This role operates on both part-time and full-time hours, with flexible shifts available.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to SCN based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
Please note both vacancies are fixed-term until 27th September 2026
You will provide comprehensive administrative support and be the first point of contact on behalf of the Senior Charge Nurses within an in-patient hospital setting.

You will be educated to SVQ Level II in Business Administration/IT or have equivalent clerical experience. You will have excellent administrative and accredited computer skills with practical experience and knowledge of database creation and maintenance. You will have a working knowledge and a high level of competence of Microsoft Office Packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) and also possess a recognised IT qualification. Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential as well as a high degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with highly confidential/sensitive issues in an appropriate manner. You must have the ability to adhere to strict maintenance of confidentiality with knowledge/understanding and compliance of GDPR. The ability to work unsupervised whilst using your own initiative as well as being able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team is essential. You must also be able to work to challenging timescales by organising and prioritising your workload and have the flexibility to change and last minute demands.

Post 1: 22.5 hours per week working Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Post 2: 37 hours per week working Monday-Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm.
