Job Overview

Opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team delivering first‑class administration services to world‑class Armed Forces personnel.

Position Overview

Based in HMS Sultan, Gosport, this post provides effective and efficient administration support to the Safety, Health, Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development (SHEP SD) team for 30 hours a week.

Main Duties
  • Act as a focal point and deliver administration services, promoting best practice, and delivering the contracted requirement to the appropriate quality standard.
  • Coordinate and greet all visitors, arranging entry into the establishment and escorting visitors as necessary.
  • Update records, plans, databases and SharePoint site and provide reports.
  • Organise and attend meetings, producing an agenda and minutes.
  • Maintain a diary and liaise with internal and external agencies.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including support/cover for other Administrators when required.

  • Well‑organised, precise and confident with credible communication skills.
  • Versatile, intuitive, professional with good judgement, absolute integrity and discretion.
  • Pro‑active, persuasive and responsive to changing needs of the business and the demands of the customer, remaining calm under pressure and self‑motivated.
  • Reliable, well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values.
  • Proven track record of delivering quality administration and service with customer‑facing experience.
  • Persuasive and credible verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop close working relationships.
  • Sound administrative experience with good organisational and motivational skills, a high degree of integrity and flexibility, and the ability to offer creative and practical solutions.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the MOD (desirable).
  • Good standard of education.
Additional Requirements
  • MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required.
  • Residency in the UK: minimum 3 years for Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance, 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application.
  • All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK essential.
  • Required to wear approved company work wear.
