Administration Assistant Immediate Start College in Wimbledon (Temp, Term-Time Only)

Hours: Mon Fri, 8:00am 1:00pm (25 hrs/week)

Start: ASAP

Salary: £17 per hour

Duration: Until 19th December (initially and could be extended)

DBS: Enhanced DBS required

We are supporting a well-regarded college in Wimbledon with the recruitment of a temporary Administration Assistant to cover a long-term staff absence. This is a busy, fast-paced environment, so the college is looking for someone confident, organised, and able to hit the ground running. You’ll be joining an established institution known for delivering an excellent standard of education. The college is set within prestigious grounds, offering a calm and inspiring place to work. Staff enjoy being part of a highly supportive team with strong values and a well-structured approach to student care.

The role suits someone calm, patient, and sociable, with a kind but firm approach. You will be the morning anchor for the team, working independently until the lunchtime handover.

Key Responsibilities
Front of House & Security
  • Acting as the first point of contact: phones, messages, visitor greeting
  • Managing electronic gate cards for staff/visitors
  • Operating the school gates
  • Following strict safeguarding and ID-checking procedures
HR & Attendance Support
  • Supporting the HR Officer with recording staff and student sickness
  • Filing, data entry and maintaining compliant personnel records
Admin & Facilities Support
  • Recording payments onto the Cashless Catering system
  • Processing maintenance request forms and ordering supplies/stationery
  • Managing the franking machine and distributing post
  • Providing pastoral admin cover when required, including parent/pupil enquiries and attendance records
Handover Requirement

You will work independently from 8:00am 12:30pm, followed by a structured 30-minute handover to the afternoon administrator. Clear communication and accurate logging of morning activity (calls, maintenance issues, attendance updates, etc.) are essential.
