The Electronic Assistive Technology Team (EAT) are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join their team. The role is based in the Bristol Centre for Enablement and provides support to the clinical and technical teams. The role coordinates appointments, liaises with external healthcare professionals, patients, their families and carers. It also involves ordering equipment, receiving stock, updating the Best electronic database and planning workloads to respond to the needs of patients and the team.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the EAT service with its main base in Bristol and secondary offices/workshops in Plymouth and Truro.
  • Book appointments, synchronise diaries and arrange work schedules for a busy, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain computerised databases for repair, maintenance procurement and supply of EAT services.
  • Receive incoming requests from patients, carers, relatives and other healthcare professionals for repair/replacement of parts and assist in allocating daily workloads.
  • Act as a central referral and contact point for the service.

Role Context

Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT) South West offers specialist assessment, provision and ongoing support of equipment for patients of all ages with a range of medical conditions resulting in physical impairment. The service predominantly focuses on controlling the environment and accessing computer technology. This is delivered by a team of Clinical Scientists and Occupational Therapists, Technicians and administrative support. Mostly based at the Bristol Centre for Enablement with some staff at the Plymouth base and another in Truro, we provide a service to patients all across the south west region.
