A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a compassionate and highly organised Receptionist and Administration Assistant. This role is pivotal in providing a reassuring presence for children and families seeking support. Responsibilities include managing appointments, handling communications, and ensuring accurate records are maintained. Ideal candidates will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality. This is a full-time, fixed-term position based at The Lighthouse, focusing on the well-being of children affected by trauma.
We are seeking a compassionate, confident and highly organised Receptionist and Administration Assistant to join The Lighthouse, England's first Child House supporting children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse.
As the first point of contact for children, families and professionals, your demeanour and approach are crucial. You will help shape each person's first experience of our service, providing a calm, warm and reassuring presence for those seeking support. You will ensure that everyone who contacts The Lighthouse feels listened to, respected and guided to the help they need.
This is a fast‑paced role at the heart of our multidisciplinary team. We are looking for someone who is approachable, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy. If you want to make a real difference to children and families at a critical point in their lives, we would love to hear from you.
As our Receptionist and Administration Assistant, you will be the welcoming face of The Lighthouse, greeting children, young people and families with kindness and professionalism. You will act as the first point of contact for external professionals, such as social workers, GPs and police officers, responding to telephone and email enquiries in a timely and supportive way.
Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments, processing referrals, and maintaining accurate records using hospital systems. You will support the wider multidisciplinary team by preparing correspondence, assisting with meetings, managing shared inboxes and handling day‑to‑day administrative tasks to keep the service running smoothly.
The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm and focused when working with sensitive information or challenging situations. You will need to be confident using IT systems, understand the principles of patient confidentiality and follow established processes to keep all information secure.
