Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity to recruit a permanent part-time Administration Assistant based at Basildon Mental Health Unit. The post is Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 1.00 pm. The areas covered include Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood and Billericay. The post holder will provide administrative support to clinical colleagues, cover receptions, and travel to various sites to provide admin support as required. We offer supervision, training and opportunities for personal development.

You will need to be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Full training on our systems will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to clinical colleagues and centralised administration service to support clinical services and functions within the Trust’s localities.
  • Cover receptions and travel between sites to provide admin support for services and receptions as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all activity across services using Trust information systems.
  • Work as part of a team to provide cover for absences across services/locations and relocate as needed to provide cover.
  • Deliver a positive, compassionate approach to supporting patient care, including telephone and face-to-face contact with patients. Be mindful that some work may be distressing due to the nature of services.
  • Operate within safeguarding and confidentiality requirements; this role places a strong emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work on a rota system to cover core office hours where appropriate.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Ability and confidence to use initiative and prioritise tasks; excellent communication skills; relevant administrative experience; flexible with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships; approachable and flexible in approach.
  • Desire to pursue an administrative career in the NHS; motivated and enthusiastic with a professional approach.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; willingness to receive full training on Trust information systems.
