HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support court users and colleagues within HMCTS, enabling people and businesses to access potentially life-changing justice. The Tax Chamber handles appeals against HMRC decisions relating to taxes, duties and statutory payments. We also handle some appeals related to goods seized by HMRC or Border Force, and decisions by the National Crime Agency. Our administrative teams in Birmingham form the core of National Services.
